The Hydroscopic Calendar reminds us that nature measures time in its own way. Seasonal variation causes changes in the wood elements of the device – they expand during the humid summer and contract during the dry winter. A dial indicator, sensitive to 1/1000th of an inch, measures the movement and indicates a transition from one season to the next.
