The Chace Center Lobby (2,070 sf) welcomes visitors into both the Chace Center and to the new Museum wing. The floor includes a new museum Visitor Services desk, risd|works Museum Shop and Café Services (1,042 sf), coat check, restrooms, café seating area, stairs to the second floor student galleries, an elevator to all floors and an escalator to the third floor Museum gallery. Architectural details include polished concrete floors, round energy-efficient lighting, two areas for video art projections, a nook area with a full window onto the brick plaza for café seating, and the rounded Visitor Services desk designed by architect Rafael Moneo.
