Micaelan Davis
During her years of architectural study, Micaelan Davis was trained first and foremost to create habitable spaces. Within these spaces were many layers of function, systems that were layered up and forced to work together. The user was ever-present. With her current work, she pulls from this background to develop objects that use the inherent interdependencies present in all systems to physically engage the user. With the design of each piece, she creates a story, often purposefully inconclusive or vague, to allow the user a primary part in the tale.
Micaelan is originally from Austin, Texas where she received a degree in architecture from the University of Texas. Her work was on display at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City.
