Responsibilities:
The Admissions Clerk is primarily responsible for ensuring a welcoming and
helpful experience for all visitors to the Museum by:
• Providing friendly welcome and quality customer service to all Museum
visitors
• Assisting visitors with the processing of admissions, membership,
program, and
birthday party payments using cash register and credit card equipment
• Maintaining efficient operation of admissions desk through regular
sorting and
organizing of materials necessary for the dissemination of information and
processing of transactions
• Having in-depth knowledge of Museum fees, membership, special
promotions, and
discount opportunities
• Increasing membership sales by ensuring visitors know the value of a
Museum
membership
• Informing visitors, both through Museum brochures and through
conversation in
person and on the phone, about Museum programs and functions
• Resolving visitor concerns and inquiries
• Keeping Museum brochure racks organized and well-stocked with current
information
Qualifications:
• Organized, confident, patient, friendly, and outgoing
• Comfortable interacting with children and adults
• Able to communicate clearly with tact and patience
• Able to multi-task, performing all assigned duties quickly and
efficiently
within an atmosphere commonly associated with busy public environments
• Able to stand for long periods of time and move freely within a
confined space
• Able to bend and reach freely in order to arrange stock and materials at
heights ranging from floor level to 36"
• Able to lift 25 lbs with ease at heights ranging from floor level to 36"
• Retail experience and knowledge of a cash register helpful
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable
Part-time position: 10-15 hours per week. Shifts are available weekdays and
weekends between 8:30am and 6:00pm, including holidays, and Friday evenings
until 8:00pm.
